Harmony purposely has a vast amount of pergolas that extend out of our classrooms allowing children to learn, while sitting down or having a formal lesson, without having to miss out on the advantages of being out in nature and providing the much needed ventilation required by health authorities. We provide students with Picnic blankets to eat their snacks in our garden whenever possible, and students use the many wonderful learning environments Harmony has to offer to learn throughout the day. After all, we go beyond the edges of book learning and foster hands-on, multisensory exploration for them to thrive!

By now you have figured out “fun” is our secret ingredient. But welded into every pellet of fun of our Imagination room is a well structured environment with a learning goal backed up by years of research. So, what are some of the most important benefits of our Imagination room?

Our Imagination Room is the ideal setting for what Harvard University has described as “Guided Play”. Researchers found that this playful approach to learning can be just as effective as more traditional, teacher-led methods in developing key skills: including literacy, numeracy, social skills and essential thinking skills known as executive functions.

Imaginative play, another type of play highly promoted in our Imagination room, fosters creativity. It also gives children opportunities to learn about other people’s perspectives. This also boosts the development of problem-solving and self-regulation skills, as well as gives teachers a fun way to role play positive behavior to their students.

Imaginary play centers, among other benefits, provide an opportunity for kids to practice and develop their language and social skills by merely being with and talking to other children and having rich conversations with adults, both in English and in Spanish.

Our Imagination Room promotes physical development in a fun way. Activities such as fitting a doll’s arms through her jacket’s sleeves are great for hand-eye coordination, as well as putting costumes on and off is the perfect opportunity to learn those much needed independence skills. Our extraordinary Ball Pit is the perfect opportunity to develop body awareness as well as strengthen their muscles.

Our After School Program for Young Achievers gives your child an opportunity to explore, discover, and achieve their greatest potential! Students have the opportunity to engage in many fun and educational activities after school hours. Whether it’s dramatic arts, construction, music, science discovery, creative expression, reading, problem solving and games, your Young Achiever will have the chance to explore many of their interests and talents in depth, guided by our experienced Harmony personnel.
Students staying for our Young Achievers Club will have time to eat a picnic style lunch before activities start (food must be brought from home), as well as time to rest. All children are provided with a Safety Certified Kiddie Cot during rest time for comfort.
